Terror Management collects minimal, anonymous data to understand how the site is used. Here is exactly what that means.

What is collected

When you visit a page, the following is recorded:

  • Page path — e.g. /skroetfest-2026
  • Referrer — the site you came from, if your browser sends one
  • Country — derived from your IP by Vercel's infrastructure; the country code only, not a precise location
  • Hashed visitor ID — your IP address is immediately converted to a short, one-way hash (SHA-256). The original IP is never stored. This is used only to count unique visitors.

What is not collected

  • No cookies are set
  • No persistent identifiers or device fingerprinting
  • No cross-site tracking
  • No third-party analytics scripts (no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.)

How data is used

The data is used solely to understand which content is being read and where visitors come from. It is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.

Data storage

Analytics data is stored in a private PostgreSQL database (Neon) hosted in the EU. It is accessible only to the site owner.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is stored to send you new posts. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email. Your address is never shared.
